Designed to quietly accompany its user, the MD Notebook is thoughtfully refined into a minimalist form centered on the writing experience.

Design & binding
MD PAPER is used not only for the pages, but also for the cover and endpapers. Its unwrapped, unadorned construction is a defining feature. The notebook is bound with durable thread stitching, offering both flexibility and strength. It opens completely flat, ensuring a smooth, uninterrupted writing experience from the first page to the last.

Each notebook type features a different color bookmark string, adding a subtle touch of playfulness to its minimalist design.

Wrapped in glassine paper inspired by vintage paperback covers, it helps protect against surface wear. Use it as is, or remove it for a more minimal, unadorned look to suit your preference. Includes index stickers that complement the notebook’s simple cover.

Choose from four layouts: blank for a free, open canvas; lined (7 mm), designed for use in sections; grid (5 mm), inspired by traditional Japanese manuscript paper; and dot grid (5 mm spacing), ideal for combining writing with diagrams and sketches.

Thread-stitched binding

The MD Notebook is bound using thread-stitched binding, in which folded signatures are sewn together along the spine. This method allows the notebook to open easily while ensuring lasting durability.

Typically used for items intended for long-term use, such as planners and journals, it is chosen here for its ability to open fully flat—what we consider essential to the ultimate writing experience.
Four layouts

The MD Notebook is available in four layouts: blank, lined, grid, and dot grid. The blank layout offers complete freedom—ideal for capturing ideas as they come or using a full spread as a single canvas.

The lined layout features a slightly bolder center line, allowing the page to be divided into sections. It can be used in halves or quarters across a spread, making it adaptable for notes, journaling, or daily planning.

The grid layout is based on traditional Japanese manuscript paper, with a 5 mm grid and subtle spacing between lines. Markers at every 5 and 10 squares aid counting, while light blue lines remain unobtrusive.

The 5 mm dot grid supports both writing and visual organization, ideal for combining text with diagrams. Two enlarged dots at the top provide space for adding dates.
Bookmark string

A subtle touch of playfulness is added to the MD Notebook’s minimalist design.

The bookmark string varies in color depending on the notebook type—white for Cotton, orange for Diary, and more.

Visible along the spine, it also serves as a small visual marker when the notebook is shelved. A hint of color peeking from the otherwise white spine adds a quiet accent.
