Announcing MD Notebook [B6 Slim] Pen Addict Edition
MD Notebook—made simply for writing. The MD Notebook is designed to let you experience the comfort of writing and the character of its materials as they are. In a new collaboration, MD PRODUCT USA introduced long-time MD PAPER fan, Brad Dowdy from The Pen Addict, to create a special edition of his favorite notebook: MD Notebook in B6 Slim Size with a special foil stamping. This special edition will be available exclusively on The Pen Addict Shop starting on June 9th, 2026.
The Pen Addict logo is boldly embossed with orange metallic foil. This edition contains the 5mm grid layout, inspired by traditional Japanese manuscript paper. Once filled, each notebook becomes a uniquely personal volume—place it on your shelf alongside your favorite books.
Brad Dowdy is a content creator, owner, and podcast co-host of The Pen Addict, a space that educates readers and listeners about all things pen, ink, paper, and stationery. He first learned about MD PAPER in 2015 and has been a dedicated user over the past decade or so, always keeping one on his desk for notes, pen testing, and journaling. We asked Brad a few questions about why he enjoys using MD PAPER.
Q: What’s your favorite quality about MD PAPER?
Brad: I use a wide range of pens, pencils, and ink every day, and MD PAPER handles everything I can throw at it without hesitation. It’s a rare quality that a single paper can handle an inky fountain pen nib and 2H graphite equally as well. It’s nice to be able to grab an MD Notebook anytime, knowing that it’s going to work perfectly.
Q: What’s your favorite tool to use with MD PAPER?
Brad: Two things – fine Cursive Italic fountain pen nibs, and fineliners. My handwriting looks the best with this type of nib, and combined with a fun fountain pen ink, they consistently look amazing on MD PAPER. On the other end of the writing spectrum, a basic Black ink fineliner is one of the more perfect compliments to this paper. The ink remains dark, and there is no bleed or feathering to speak of. Perfect for writing or sketching.
Q: What kinds of ways do you anticipate or would wish users could utilize the MD Notebook in the B6 Slim size?
Brad: I think the B6 Slim size is a wonderful portable writing companion. Throw it in a bag or backpack and hit the road! This format is a new favorite of mine, and fans of other Designphil products like the TRAVELER’S notebook, and both the PLOTTER Bible and Narrow sizes, will find this shape familiar. I find I leave a lot of blank space in the margins of an A5 notebook, and often want more room in a classic A6, so the B6 Slim fits that sweet spot in between for me.
